Today’s blog is all about why you should try your own Boudoir session!
I can go on and on all day about why it’s a great experience and how empowered you’ll feel, but let’s have one of my amazing clients share their story with you instead 🙂
What was your favourite part of the session?
My favourite part of the session was talking to Jackie and working with her to get the best pictures. I’m familiar with Jackie’s work and during the session she did everything she could to make my photos a work of art. She gave great feedback and was enthusiastic when a picture turned out great. Even just chatting with her between shots felt natural and friendly. Getting boudoir shots taken is a huge step out of my comfort zone and Jackie’s attitude and enthusiasm made it easier than I would’ve thought!
What did doing this shoot do for your self confidence, self worth, and self image?
I’ve become more and more self conscious over the last couple years due to gaining some weight. I initially wanted to do the shoot to feel good about myself as that’s not a common feeling for me. Jackie made it known from the start that I didn’t need to be a size zero to look good in the pictures. The guide she sent me had some great resources and tips on how to find properly fitting lingerie for every body shape.
Once hair and makeup was done, which is something Jackie offers at her sessions, I started to feel like the pictures would look beautiful because I felt beautiful. I was a bit nervous the first few pictures but with words of encouragement from Jackie I snapped into model mode. I can look at these pictures and see that Jackie not only made me feel like a model, she made me look like one too. I felt very good about myself after the session and I feel good about myself every time I look at the pictures.
What was the best part of your experience? Would you change anything?
The best part of the experience was how good I felt about myself and how much fun I had. I thought posing and being in unnatural positions would get tiring and boring after a while but the session time flew by. I knew the pictures would turn out beautifully because I trusted Jackie when she told me a pose or a picture was great. I found the session to be almost therapeutic, with work and school I can barely find time to do anything for myself. Getting my hair and makeup professionally done and celebrating my beauty was great self-care in my opinion.
If you could give any advice to somebody looking at having their own Boudoir session done, what would you say?
Don’t be afraid of not being “perfect”. Whether you’re insecure about your weight, scars, stretch marks, facial features or whatever flaws you believe you have, you are beautiful. Getting a boudoir session with Jackie will make you see how truly beautiful you are. Take the leap, get out of your comfort zone but most importantly, have fun.
