I wanted to share some great tips and tricks to help make your session a success so that you’ll walk away with a fantastic set of images.

1. Avoid Having A “Floating Head” In Your Images

Wanting to have your images taken against a white or bright background? Avoid having the look of a floating head by wearing a shade or colour to contrast the white. Instead of wearing a white top, consider breaking it up with a jacket, cardigan, or coat. Some different options other than white to wear for these photos are black, blue, dark grey, or anything neutral.

2. Always Feel Comfortable

I know having your photos taken might not feel the most comfortable, but we’ll work together to make sure it’s a great experience. As a perfect starting point, consider picking out wardrobe that you are comfortable in. Try on and style your outfits in advance in case something doesn’t work out or you are welcome to bring a variety to your session for us to choose what will look best.

3. Think About The Feel You Want Your Photos To Have

If you need a simple headshot, that’s totally fine! If you’re wanting to show off your brand or personality a bit more, think about how you want to come across in the images. If you’re looking to have warmth and honestly, opt for more relaxed posing and smiling vs. looking super intimidating. We can always discuss this before we start to make sure you’re getting images that will work for you in the end.
