Hey friends! I’m here today to chat about why it’s time to update your headshot, why it’s important to have some great images to use for your work, and how a headshot session works. 

When You Should Update Your Headshot

On average, most clients that come into the studio haven’t updated their headshot anywhere between 5-10 years – yikes! A lot can happen within that time frame and sometimes images don’t age well (think of posing, lighting, clothing trends, etc.). It’s important to keep your headshot current and make sure it will work for longer than a few years if need be. 

I recommend you update your headshot every 1-2 years, especially if you’ve had a career change.

Why Having Great Images Is Important

Another thing I hear a lot from clients coming in is that they are using selfies for their headshots or the quality of their past images isn’t very great. 

Let me help make your images look more professional while still feeling like yourself! I know the idea of having professional headshots done can feel daunting but it is honestly a lot less complicated and stressful than you think. 

Having great images will not only make you stand out from the crowd, it will also make you look more professional and help convey your personality to your potential employers or clients.

First, we’re going to want to connect and chat about how you’d like to be photographed for the session. At this point, please let me know if you have any rules you need to follow or image specifications. 

To get started you can either email me at info@jackiehallphoto.com, reach out via my CONTACT page, or fill out this form. 

After we’ve talked about your session and booked a date in, I’ll send you over a copy of my wardrobe guide to help make things easier. If you still aren’t sure and need more help, please let me know and I can make further suggestions. 

Finally, at the time of your session, I’ll be there to pose/guide you through the whole process. As we are shooting I’ll also be tethered to an iPad so you can see your images in real time, which allows us to make any adjustments you might need right there on the spot (and also, who doesn’t want to see their images right away!?!?)

After the session you’ll receive a proof gallery to make your final selection. The images are then edited and returned to you for download.
