You may have seen posts about boudoir sessions but have no idea what to expect, which is why I’ve put together this helpful guide as to how a boudoir session experience works 🙂

Welcome To The Studio

Upon arriving to my cozy studio space here in Kingston, Ontario, you’ll be greeted with excitement and shown to our shooting space. This is a super special occasion and you deserve to feel comfortable and right at home! My kettle is always warm and ready to give you a cup of tea while you sit and get pampered during our next step:

Get Pampered With Hair + Makeup

Next, you’ll be set up at our hair and makeup station. This is the perfect time to relax, get settled in, and get comfortable with the space. Want a nice peaceful experience? No problem! Want to chat away? We can also do that too 😉

Your hair and makeup experience is tailored to your needs. If you want more of a glam look or something more natural feeling, anything can be done. Photoshoot makeup is always a little heavier looking in person but always lightens up on camera (just as a heads up).

It’s Finally Time…. For Your Boudoir Session!

We’ll take a peek at what you’ve brought for wardrobe, or the items available if borrowing from the client closet. We typically shoot 3-4 different options so you have a nice variety in the images afterward. This part of the experience is what everyone feels is the hardest part… but trust me, it is SO easy!

I’ll be there to pose and guide you the entire time so you don’t need to stress whatsoever. I’ll always demonstrate the pose first, then get you set up. I may readjust your hands or feet but that’s about it. And like I tell everyone that books, some of these poses may feel weird but will have you look amazing on camera!

Your session will take between 1-1.5 hours, depending on how many wardrobe changes you want to do.

The Big Reveal: Seeing Your Images For The First Time

Boudoir sessions are a lot different than my basic work. Because they’re a whole day experience and I want you to feel luxurious, your images are pre-edited with high end retouching and are ready for you to view the SAME DAY as your session! It’s SO exciting!

You’ll be welcomed back to the studio after a little break (typically 2.5-3 hours after the shoot) where your images will be displayed on a big screen and revealed for the first time. You’ll see them both in colour and black and white.

Next is the real hard part of the whole experience: picking which images to have in your order!

We can view and go through the images as many times as you need until we narrow down to the exact amount you’d like. You may purchase as little or as many images as you want! Individual images can be purchased for $150 per image or you can go with my 8 image collection which is $799 + tax and includes a custom 6×6 album as well. Many other options are available and we can review those at this time too!
