I’ve been receiving so many requests lately asking if I offer maternity sessions or not and the answer is yes! Yes I do!

You can view more of my maternity portfolio under the PORTFOLIO page but for now, let me go over what these sessions entail.

Maternity sessions are super special and it’s really important to me that we perfectly capture what you are envisioning for your session. Some clients choose to do a more dramatic look in the studio and some opt for a more casual look. I feel like it’s important to embrace who you are and to sit and think about what would make you the happiest to see.

What About Location?

We can always photograph these sessions at the studio if you’re wanting to forego trying to work around the weather and wind outside, or an in-home session is always available too. For sessions done at your home, I always ask clients to pick out a spot with the best natural light available so we have more wiggle room and to have the area as tidy as possible. Or, if you have property you would like to have your session done on that is always an option as well!

If you would like to have the session outdoors, let’s talk about location! Are you more of a city person or do you want to venture out into the great wilderness around us? A beach session would be so warm and romantic, especially if we photograph this in the evening. Or if you want a whimsical feel to your maternity session, anything with greenery or a forest location would be perfect! Whatever you envision, let’s work together to create stunning, beautiful images for a special time in your life.

Can My Partner Come?

Yes, absolutely!

Your maternity session can be done solo, or with your partner, or a mix of both. Most clients opt to have a mix of both which is great and it also creates a beautiful variety in your images as well 🙂 We’ll capture a few of the more traditional-styled images of the two of you and then we’ll really focus on showcasing the connection between yourself and your partner. And then we can’t forget the super special images of you!

Like the rest of my work, I love capturing everything in a natural manner as opposed to the heavy use of props.

What Do I Wear?

As with all of my portrait-type sessions, maternity photoshoots also come with my wardrobe guide! And for what to wear, I would honestly go with what feels the most natural to you. If you’re wanting a long flowing dress, that is great! But if you want it to be more relaxed or give more of an urban feel, denim and a plain top always give off that classic look!
