The Booking Process:

I get it, rounding everyone up and having them in one place can be tricky, but I promise it will be worth it once you get to see your own beautiful family photos. The first step in this process is reaching out to discuss a date that works best for everybody.

Providing as many details as possible when inquiring will help us work together to make your vision come to life. Some simple questions to think about are:

Did you want the session done at the studio here in Kingston? At your home? Outdoors? At a spot that is meaningful to you and your family?

What do you want to do with these photos?

How many people will be attending?

Do you want them done by a specific date?

Do you need help with wardrobe?

The Planning Process:

Once we get a date booked in for your family session, let the planning begin! We’ll get the perfect location lined up for your photos. And you can start browsing ideas to see if there are any specific images you are wanting to have done as well. A great place to look besides Pinterest is Instagram by searching the hashtag #familyphotos or #familyphotography, additionally you can visit my profile by clicking HERE to see more work.

One of the goodies you receive when booking your family session is my wardrobe style guide! The guide will go over the best places to shop, how to style everyone for the session, best colours to use, etc. It’s extremely helpful but if you are still stuck simply reach out and I can help 🙂

Another important part to the planning process is thinking about HOW you want your family documented. Do you want the images to feel more candid or more traditional with extra posing? Also think about a favourite activity you have together as well as this is a great and easy way to add some fun to your session.

The Photoshoot:

It’s time for your own family session session! Yay!

During the course of the shoot I will help pose and guide you the entire time. Whether you’re wanting something more candid or more posed, we’ll work together to create a beautiful set of images you’ll cherish forever!

Sessions are typically between 1 – 1.5 hours in length depending on factors such as small children needing breaks, wardrobe changes, switching locations, etc.

Post-Photoshoot Fun:

After your session is finished and you’re back at home to relax, I’ll be going through all of the images captured to eliminate any weird faces, blinking, blurry images, etc. and will then get a proof gallery sent your way. You’ll be auto-generated a password to view the gallery where you can pick and choose your favourite images.

From there, the editing process can begin! If you haven’t noticed already, my images are edited to bring life to the photos and to keep colours as true as possible.

Once the images are edited you’ll be given a download gallery with both high-resolution and web-resolution files. As an extra bonus, my online store is attached as well so you can order prints, albums, cards, etc directly from my own private vendors (which the public does not have access to) and they will be shipped right to you!
